UFO Over Lake Pocotopaug?

This May video was taken from the web site YouTube.

YouTube is becoming a place to go for news, so says a report released by the Pew Research Center as part of its Project for Excellence in Journalism.

"YouTube is becoming a major platform for viewing news," the report from earlier this month says.

As more and more turn to YouTube for their news, the report, which spanned 15 months, suggests much of it is for national and international footage, such as the Japan earthquake.

But what about local news?

Local media haven't taken to YouTube quite yet, so the videos posted are mostly citizen journalism.

Curious, I went to the site to see what kind of news I might find from East Hampton and Portland. As you might expect, there was plenty of great video from the Bevin Bell factory fire and Old Home Days. There also is a very cool video of the 1965 Portland Memorial Day Parade, as well as videos of the Portland High School Marching Band. Sports also can easily be found.

Then you run across something like the UFO Over Lake Pocotopaug and you're not quite sure what to make of it. The video is from May 2012. Real? A hoax? Perhaps there is some other explanation for the light, you decide.

I'm just sharing because it is news.
