Gail Wade at the Gazebo, the Portland Book Club and a Chance of Thunderstorms

A few things to help you get organized on Thursday, August 1, 2013.

1.    Gail Wade Performing in the Gazebo Music Series: Gail Wade will perform as part of The Joseph N. Goff House Gazebo Music Series on Thursday from 6:30-8:30 pm. The concert will be held at the Gazebo on Center School grounds, and in case of rain, will take place inside The Congregational Church of East Hampton. A strong guitarist and clawhammer banjo player with a rich and soulful voice, Gail performs fresh renditions of folk, blues, old-time, bluegrass and swing favorites.

2.    Portland Library Book Club Discusses Catch-22: This Thursday at 6:30 p.m. the Portland Library Book Club will host a discussion of Joseph Heller's famous novel, Catch-22. Books are available, and no reservations are necessary.

3.    Looking to Adopt a Local Dog?  How About Dinky Little?:  This nine-week-old border collie/terrier mix is looking for a home!

4.    Today’s Forecast:  Scattered showers and thunderstorms between noon and 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 3am, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 62. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
