Declaration of Independence to be Read Out Loud in Portland

The reading will be happening on Saturday, July 13, at 10 a.m.

If you plan on driving on Route 66 to Old Home Days in East Hampton this weekend, you may want to make a pit stop in Portland for another great event.

A group of Portland residents will be reading aloud The Declaration of Independence, in honor of the 237th anniversary of the adoption of this foundational document, The Middletown Press reported.

The Press reported that the reading will be happening at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial right behind Town Hall, which is located at 33 East Main St.
