This year's car cruise easily surpassed attendance expectations as thousands of people of all ages strolled Middletown's Main Street to see vehicles manufactured before 1988, listen to music, grab a bite to eat, and check out vendors of all sorts.

Featured cars were a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO, Porsche 959, 1965 Shelby Cobra, and 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500.

This 16th annual event, which closed Main from Washington Street to Union Street, was sponsored by Jackson Chevrolet, and supported by the City of Middletown and many area businesses, including Trantolo and Trantolo, Charles Computer Services, Napa Auto Parts, the Downtown Business District, the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, the Over the Hill Gang Connecticut Eastern Chapter, Liberty Bank, Hometeam Supply, and Route 66 Muscle Car Club of Portland.

Donations of $5 per car will go to Middletown youth programs.
