Annual Moodus Sportsman Club Shad Bake on Sunday

Come early to get a good parking spot.

The Moodus Sportsman Club will hold its annual Shad Bake event on Sunday from noon to 2:30 p.m. Plank baked shad, bluefish and other goodies will be available at this annual event.

The cost of tickets, available at the gate, are:

Adults: $20
Children under 12: $6
Seniors: $17 gate

The event is held rain or shine; there is plenty of space under the pavilion and inside the clubhouse.

Activities include horseshoes, fishing at the pond for the kids (bring your own equipment), good company and more!

Pay attention to the parking guides. This is a popular event and overflow parking may be at the town beach in a designated area.

The Moodus Sportsman's Club is just east of the East Haddam Town Beach at the Moodus Reservior.

Established in 1942, the purpose of the club is to promote the ancient traditions of hunting, fishing and trapping. The club "supports wise use of the land, good sportsmanship, conservation practices and preservation of open spaces.

The club is located at 299 East Haddam-Colchester Tpke. in  Moodus.
