Clydesdale Born on Budweiser Farm Finds Home in East Hampton

Connecticut Draft-Horse Rescue recently took in five large horses from Maine, and one of them was a Budweiser horse originally from Grant's Farm in Missouri.

Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue based in East Hampton recently took in five untamed Clydesdale horses following the sudden death of their owner in Maine.

One of the horses has a connection to a popular beer that frequently features Clydesdales in their advertisements: Budweiser.

CDHR President Stacey Golub told Patch that the horse was born on Grant’s Farm in Missouri, which is the Anheuser-Busch operated farm that attracts visitors every year. The horse, however, did not make the cut as a Budweiser Clydesdale and was therefore never used in any ads, Golub said.

Being “untamed,” these mares have not been trained to accommodate human riders and have not had any handling.

“They are not halter broke, but will be available for adoption after some ‘basic training,’” Golub said.
