East Hampton Woman Wins $10,000 Lottery Prize

Instant scratch ticket purchased at Food Bag.

Stopping at her hometown Food Bag on Route 16 in East Hampton, Karen Hartley purchased a CT Lottery “10X Cash 6th Edition” instant ticket and scratched it, but without her glasses, she couldn’t see clearly how much she won. When she showed the ticket to her husband, he gave her the good news — it was worth $10,000, one of the game’s top prizes.

“I am still in shock,” Hartley told Lottery officials. “I knew I won a prize, but I didn’t know how much. Whenever my husband told me it was $10,000, I thought, ‘Dear God!’  Then we scanned it in a ticket checker to be sure.”
