Erin Brady, New Miss USA, Showers Love on East Hampton Company

The newly crowned pageant winner, an East Hampton native, says one of her beauty secrets is using this landmark firm's product.

Just when East Hampton couldn't like the rags-to-riches story of Erin Brady even more, we learn that since being crowned Miss USA two weeks Brady, an East Hampton native, gave a little love back to her hometown.

Brady, who also attended Portland High School, told an interviewer that one of her beauty secrets is using a witch hazel product made by American Distilling, a Route 66 witch hazel factory that sits on the shore of Lake Pocotopaug. The company has operated in the area since the 1800s.

According to a story on People Magazine, Brady said she uses Dickinson's Witch Hazel wipes, which American Distilling makes, and that she even gave some to her competitors in the pageant.

"With hazel is an herbal extract that acts as a natural astringent with healing qualities. It is gentle enough for the most sensitive skin while powerful enough to remove excess oil and dirt that can clog pores. And Dickinson's individually wrapped towelettes make it super easy to bring a winning beauty pageant complexion to the gym, on the road, or wherever you need to catch that impeccable runway glow!" the website dailyglow.com says in a story on Brady.
