Community Corner

CROP Walk

East Hampton local churches will be sponsoring a HUNGER CROP Walk on October 14th, starting at various locations, EHCC at 11:00 am, St.Patrick's 11:30 am, Bethelhem Lutheran 11:30am, Hope Church 11:00 am ending at Sears Park pavilion with a brief service, followed by a fellowship gathering. All are welcomed to participate in the community. Money raised goes to World Church Services that helps people around the world and in this country to provide food, water and many other programs. In fact 25 percent of all money raised goes to our own food bank. A check for 546.75 was given to our food bank this past summer from money raised at last years CROP walk. Why should you walk? Consider nearly 1 billion people live in poverty worldwide. In the U.S. nearly 43 million don't have enough to eat. Around 18,000 children die every day from hunger-related causes. Hunger is preventable, and you can help! We encourage all businesses to participate by forming a walk team or go on-line to www.cropwalk.org ,click on find your walk, search by state, find East Hampton, either sign up or make a donation in your business name. Anyone in the community can make a donation. There also will be a collection for food bank and the CROP walk, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Sears Park. So please stop by, you can help people in our community and around the world! Come out and walk with us. You'll be doing good and it's good for you! If you would like further information or a sign up form please contact Debbie at (860) 267-4544. Thanks and remember you could make a difference.....Like us on facebook. East Hampton Crop Walk
