Portland's Nick Piersall wins State Hot Shot Basketball Final

Wins boys' 11 and 12 division.

Nick Piersall of Portland won his division (boys 11 and 12) at the Connecticut State Hot Shot Basketball Final on Saturday, April 2, in East Hampton.

Nick first won the local contest in Portland in January, then traveled to Groton to compete in the Southwest Regionals, which he won and advanced on to the finals.

Portland’s Annual Hot shot Basketball Contest was held on Jan. 31 and had over 54 participants from 9 to 15 years old.

The first place winners then moved along to the next level of the contest.

The following were the winners in their age divisions: Ages 9 and 10, Molly Leary and Jacob Corley. Ages 11 and 12, Courtney Cote and Nick Piersall. Ages 13 to 15, Danielle Cote and Connor Giveans.
