Three Local Attorneys Named to Connecticut 'Rising Stars' List

The three Middletown-based attorneys were recognized by the annual Super Lawyers magazine.

The below posting is a press release from the Law Offices of Dzialo, Pickett & Allen, P.C.

Dzialo, Pickett & Allen, P.C. attorneys Katherine Gillespie, Sylvia Rutkowska, and Eamonn Wisneski have all been named to the 2013 Connecticut Rising Stars list as three of the top up‐and‐coming attorneys in Connecticut. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state receive this honor.

Super Lawyers
magazine annually publishes the Rising Stars list, which is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The Rising Stars list is comprised of attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Attorneys Gillespie, Rutkowska, and Wisneski were named as Rising Stars after a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys. The Rising Stars list is published nationwide in Super Lawyers magazines and will also appear as a special feature in Connecticut magazine.

Attorney Gillespie practices in the areas of family law, probate litigation and administration, and real estate law. She joined the firm of Dzialo, Pickett & Allen, P.C. in 2004 as a law clerk while still attending law school and became an associate in 2006. Attorney Gillespie's family law practice includes divorce, private mediation services, legal separation, custody, and other family related issues.

Attorney Rutkowska practices primarily in personal injury, civil litigation, land use and municipal law matters. She has represented clients in mediations, arbitrations, and all levels of court, including both the Appellate Court and Supreme Court.  She was recognized as a National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40” in 2012. Attorney Rutkowska is an extremely active member of numerous professional and civic associations, and recently received Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers' Section "Chair's Award" for her work as the Public Service/Special Projects Director.  She is fluent in English and Polish.

Attorney Wisneski's legal practice includes personal injury, workers’ compensation, and general litigation. This is the second consecutive year that he has been named to the Rising Stars list. He has years of experience in a wide variety of cases, such as workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall cases, ice and snow cases, dog bites, and other negligent and intentional tort cases. Attorney Wisneski is a Middletown native, having attended Middletown schools and graduated from Middletown High in 1997. Among other activities, he serves on the Russell Library Board of Trustees and was recently named by the Chief Justice to serve on the State of Connecticut Law Library Advisory Committee. He resides in Middletown with his wife, Kori, and son, Jack.
