Portland Youth Services sponsoring 16th Annual Family Day
Portland Family Day will be held on Saturday September 15th on the downtown green from 11:00am to 2pm. Lots of games, prizes, crafts for kids to make, food, and a huge jumping inflatable. "Stardust" the clown will be appearing from 11:30 am to 12:30pm. Portland Fire Department will be on hand with a large interactive Fire Prevention Display. Portland Police will also be there to talk about Bike Safety. Dr. John Mormille a local chiroprator will be handing out free bike helmets. Connecticut Cellar Savers will be bringing several antique fire trucks to see and touch. Many groups and organizations will be attending to hand out information or provide good things to eat. A pancake breakfast will be at the Senior Center from 8:00 to 10:00 and their famous baked potatoes will be sold, both helping to raise funds for the Sojurn Bear project. Family Day is a way to enjoy a low cost day of fun with your family without "leaving town" to do it. Come and enjoy.
