Your Investment Return –$152,204 Awarded through the 2013-2014 Competitive Grants

You – our investors and partners – help us address issues facing our community every day. Your partnership allows us to work with the county’s nonprofits and make dreams come true. Thanks to your generosity, the Community Foundation of Middlesex County awarded $152,204 to nonprofits organizations during the 2013-2014 competitive grants cycle. Your overall community investment in 2013 reached new heights, providing funding totaling $582,109 to 191 organizations. Since 1997 your support has provided 1,100 grants totaling more than $3.3 million to make Middlesex County a great place to live, work, and play.

Funding for the competitive grants is made possible by your friends and neighbors who have established endowed funds at the Community Foundation as well as by donations from generous individuals and community-minded organizations.  “We are deeply grateful to the generous support of the fund holders and our grant making partners – the River View Cemetery – Essex, Connecticut Humanities, and the D’Addario Family Foundation,” said Cynthia Clegg, President & CEO of the Community Foundation.  “The trust and support of each and every one of our investors helped us grow and give more each year to the arts, education, human services, animal related services, environment, and heritage enhancement. It is truly amazing what we have done – TOGETHER – to improve the quality of life for all in our region over the years.”

Your support is creating opportunities for so many throughout Middlesex County. Thanks to you, special needs students will have access to music therapy and music education lessons; our rich heritage will be archived and displayed through photo exhibits; victims and families of domestic violence will have access to a broad array of resources; at risk boys can build skills for a stronger future through culinary training programs; and so much more.
