East Hampton school officials have notified parents that there will be no classes here on Monday and Tuesday, when Hurricane Sandy is expected to be at its height.
The district joins a long list of others across the state that are cancelling classes in anticipation of the huge storm, which is expected to have high and sustained winds starting late tonight.
There is no word yet on whether the town intends to open East Hampton High School as a local shelter, as it did during Hurricane Irene last year.
