Block Party and Fireworks on Tuesday

Need a great spot to view the Middletown Fireworks on Tuesday, July 3? Then look no further than Stor-U-Self in Portland.

You will get more than just a great view, however. will be hosting it's annual Open House Block Party from 5:30 p.m. till the conclusion of the fireworks. Free hot dogs, drinks, a moon bounce for the kids and music provided by a DJ are all part of the fun. A grill also will be raffled off with the proceeds going to benefit Multiple Sclerosis.

Admission is free so grab a friend, bring the family or just come by yourself for a fun evening.

Stor-U-Self is conveniently located on 127 Main St. just over the Arrigoni Bridge.

After a two-year hiatus, the Middletown Fireworks is indeed back. In 2010 and 2011, the city's common council slashed fireworks funding due to budgetary constraints.

The fireworks are scheduled to be shot high over the Connecticut River at 9:30 p.m.

Portland's Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 7, at the fair grounds.
