Coming Soon! East Hampton-Portland Patch Hits Refresh

Next month we'll unveil a new look for Patch that helps you live better in East Hampton and Portland.

About two years ago, we launched the East Hampton-Portland Patch with a pretty bold mission in mind: To make your life ridiculously easy.

That meant covering the biggest stories in town—from the election to the latest weather craziness—while also helping you share even the smallest feats of neighborly kindness or communicate with your customers.

At every turn we thought of new and better ways to deliver on our promise, which is why we’re so excited to premiere an improved East Hampton-Portland Patch next month.

Come mid-December you’ll be able to:

  • Personalize East Hampton-Portland Patch by following groups. A few clicks makes your local news feed custom-fit to the topics you care about. Police blotter and shelter pets? Taxes and restaurant reviews? Why not?
  • Better organize your day by creating groups of your own. Use Patch to plan a rec sports league or school fundraiser. Everyone can finally be on the same page—literally.
  • Experience a better mobile Patch. We know you live on your smartphone—so we put everything you love about Patch in a smaller, more portable package.
  • Share comments and photos more intuitively and much, much faster.
  • Turn any blog or opinion piece into a mini-community of interest, complete with followers of your very own.

For a sneak peek, check out Long Beach (NY) Patch and let us know what you think. You can also ask any questions—large or small—by emailing Senior Regional Editor Elissa Bass at elissa@patch.com.

You can also register your interest in forming a group right when the new East Hampton-Portland  Patch launches here. We'll walk you through it!

In North Korea we have the Same old S - - T as we had with his Father and Grandfather. If they wantRead More to destroy their country, Bring it on! He is nothing but a BIG MOUTH. I feel sorry for the N. Korean people to have such a jerk as this dictator. It is too bad they don't have a good democracy.

Why exclude the crime scene photos? If those were released you would see some real gun legislationRead More passed when people saw what those bullets did to those little children. The only unconstitutional laws passed so far are the restrictions the NRA has managed to get passed that make it difficult for the government to even trace stolen weapons. When I was young the NRA taught us how to properly handle weapons. Now the NRA is more concerned with keeping their high paying jobs by feeding their members misinformation. If you are a hunter and need more than one bullet to fell your prey, you need target practice.

Agreed, all of it (except crime scene photos) . There is no prosecution to plan,no reason to keepRead More data secret . It gives the impression that people with a agenda are trying to hide something until possibly unconstitiutional laws are passed . Why no word on his medical conditions ? Does Hippa apply after death ?

All of it should be made public. Lawmakers are crafting new legislation that is going to affectRead More every person in the state. We have a right to know what these new laws are being based on.
