Connecticut Native Jamie “The Bear” McDonald Wins Philadelphia's Wing Bowl XXI

The 37-year-old Navy veteran consumed 287 chicken wings to steal the crown from the hometown favorite, CBS in Philadelphia reports.

And in Philadelphia, on the Friday before the game, there's the Wing Bowl. This is a chicken-wing-eating competition that has grown in hype and stature over the years. Friday's was Wing Bowl 21.

Jamie McDonald, wearing a Tom Brady Patriots shirt, was roundly and loudly booed by the packed house as he upset local favorite and three-time winner Jon Squibb over three rounds of wing-eating, the CBS affiliate reported. He won by eating 287 wings to Squibb's 282.
