Letter: It Seems Unfair

East Hampton Town Council minority needs to be heard.

It Seems Unfair

I was glad to read the recent Rivereast letter to the editor from Ted, Barbara and George. I hope we hear more from this trio. It’s clear that they’re frustrated at being shut out of a process each council member ought to be afforded the opportunity to participate in. Truly that isn’t the case and Ted, Barbara and George are in for a long two years on council. So I hope they continue to share their thoughts about what is happening in our community, from their perspectives. Majority rules no question about it, and it’s not a surprise the Chatham Party took control after the tumultuous times we all endured the past two years. They took back their town and now they’re determined to control every aspect of it. They will do it with complete disregard for the voices of the minority representation at their table. It must be very difficult for these three and I imagine they’ll be angry from time to time. They are trying hard to convey their positions and debate issues with a faction that is deaf to ideas and contributions that don’t come from their camp. It seems unfair to me. Ted, Barbara and George – good for you – let your voices be heard! Keep the faith and let’s hear more from you in the future.
