Letter to the Citizens of East Hampton

A thank you from the East Hampton Town Manager.

Dear East Hampton Citizens,

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. From the volunteers to the staff, we all make East Hampton one of the best places to live.

During Hurricane Sandy and the Nor'easter that followed it was because of the volunteer efforts of the Fire Department, Community Emergency Response Team, and the countless other first responders and staff who worked around the clock to keep us safe. Thank you.

Almost every night of the week if you drive by the Town Hall or the High School there are volunteer committees, boards and commissions meeting. It is through the work of these entities that our water assets are maintained, smart growth is defined, rules and regulations are followed and the citizen’s voice is heard. Thank you.

Every day I have the opportunity to meet and work with citizens of East Hampton. Both my family and I have received a warmest welcome ever imagined. We are very thankful to live in a place with so many community minded and caring people.

Happy Thanksgiving.
