Portland Woman Still Critical

Fundraiser to be held at Portland Restaurant in March

Kimberly Tyrseck, the Portland woman hit by a car Thursday morning in New Britain, remained in critical condition Saturday at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.

Tyrseck, 23, was struck near Central Connecticut State University by a Volkswagen Jetta driven by Jessica Parr of Canton. According to police, Parr did not stop. Parr, also 23, was charged with driving under the influence.

Tyrseck's brother, Rob Tyrseck, told WFSB-3 that his sister is in critical condition with head trauma and broken bones.

This is the second time Parr has been charged with DUI. On April 12, 2010, Parr was charged by West Hartford Police. That case is still awaiting disposition by Hartford Superior Court, with a court date of June 3. The file in that case has been sealed.

A fundraiser will be held for Tyrseck at Portland Restaurant, where she works, on March 27 from noon to 5 p.m., according to The Middletown Press. The fundraiser will offer a buffet and raffle prizes.

Tickets are $25, $10 for ages younger than 10, and free for ages 5 and younger.
