Searching for East Hampton's Citizen of the Year 2013

If you know of an individual who has made a difference in the East Hampton community throughout their lives, you may nominate them for the 2013 East Hampton Citizen of the Year.

For the 16th year, the East Hampton Village Lions Club is again conducting their search for East Hampton’s Citizen of the Year.  If you know of an individual who has made a difference in the East Hampton community throughout their lives, you may nominate them for the 2013 East Hampton Citizen of the Year.  Nomination letters describing the individual and their accomplishments may be forwarded within the next month to:  East Hampton Village Lions Club, P.O. Box 14, East Hampton, CT 06424.  The club will accept nominations until December 12, 2012.

For the past two years the nominee is also nominated for the Connecticut Lion’s District 23-C Humanitarian Award.  The Village Lions was honored by having their nominee, Joan Youngs, chosen from dozens of candidates as the grand prize winner of eastern Connecticut’s regional  Humanitarian Award, representing four Connecticut counties and approximately 33 Lions Clubs in the District.  This year the Village Lions Club also plans to submit the town nominee to the District’s recognition program for 2013.

The award winner’s name will be added to the list of outstanding citizens on the plaque at the East Hampton Public Library.  Previous recipients include Charles Nichols, Gladys Smith, Emma Prince, Ronald Christopher, Monica Murray, Frederick Everett, Joseph Becker, Eugene Hubbard, Ray Krupa, Cindy Sorvillo Baloga, Dennis Erickson, Dennic Ingraham, Sr., JoAnn Ewing,  Robert “Red” McKinney, and this year’s 2012 recipient, Joan Youngs.
