- The Portland Senior Center is offering free tax help for preparing tax returns. AARP volunteers will help prepare returns so call the center to sign up soon as they have a limited number of slots available. Returns will be prepared on Wednesday mornings from Feb. 6 through March 27.

- The East Hampton Food Bank is currently looking for the following food donations: canned soup (they really need this!), jelly, coffee, tea, canned mixed vegetables, corn or peas, boxed mac & cheese, toothpaste, dish soap, canned fruit, peanut butter, cereal, tuna, baking stuff, pasta, sauce and pet food.
- Vinnie's Jump and Jive, at 424 Main St in Middletown, will host a 2nd Friday Blues Dance on Friday, Feb. 8., from 7-8 p.m. This class will focus on the lesser-used parts of a dancer's body (head, shoulders, knees and toes) to demonstrate the sharper aspects of Blues music.
