Also, the Connecticut Spring Antiques Show is this weekend.

  1. The Connecticut Spring Antiques Show returns to Hartford this year just in time for its 40th Anniversary. The show, which is sponsored by and benefits the Haddam Historical Society, will be at the State Armory and runs from Saturday, March 15, through Monday, March 17. Admission is 15.  The show features dozens of Connecticut antiques dealers, as well as numerous dealers from around New England and the Northeast.
  2. Your Daily Tax Tip: If you changed your name, make sure the IRS knows it if you want to get your tax refund.
  3. Town Manager Michael Maniscalco is holding another “Meet the Town Manager” today from 2-5 p.m.
  4. This year marks the 6th Annual Thank The Lake Day. The community event will be held Saturday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at Sears Park, at 68 North Main St. The Thank The Lake Day gives thanks to the water of Lake Pocotopaug, the state’s largest natural body of water. This year Joseph Firecrow will attend and will provide traditional Cheyene flute and drum music.
  5. Girl Scouts are still collecting cookies for heroes this month. The Cookies for Heroes service project allows customers to purchase Girl Scout Cookies from their local Girl Scout, and Girl Scouts of Connecticut, along with community partners, will deliver the cookies to service women and men overseas and at home.
