Original event listing:
The Middletown Township Public Library will host a reception for our February artists, the Rebecca’s Reel Quilters, on Saturday, February 9, 2013, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
From February 2 through March 1, Middletown Township Public Library is pleased to offer an exhibit of quilts made by Rebecca’s Reel Quilters. They will present members' most loved quilts, prizewinning quilts over the years, and quilts with unusual themes and designs. A show for art lovers, quilt enthusiasts and craftspeople, this exhibit will introduce the viewer to many unique and delightful creations and styles of quilting.
Founded in 1986, the Rebecca’s Reel Quilters have nurtured the craft of quilting, offering classes, speakers, exhibits, and camaraderie to fabric artists in this area and from around New Jersey. Rebecca’s Reel quilters create for their own homes, as gifts, and for exhibit. They also quilt for charity, including many items donated to the 2005 International Quilt Festival in Houston to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The reception will take place in the library’s Community Room at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown, NJ 07748. Funding for the library's public programs comes from the generous support of the Middletown Township Public Library Foundation, Inc.
