Light The Sky With Light & Love for Sandy Hook Elementary Angels

LIGHT THE SKY WITH LIGHT AND LOVE FOR SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY ANGELS - A Tribute to Newtown, CT

As a tribute to the many children and teachers that were taken from us on December 14, 2012, an amazing event is taking place on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Light the Sky with Light and Love was developed and originated by a 10 year old boy, Jordan Spencer, who wanted to do something to help after finding out about the Sandy Hook tragedy in Newtown, CT. Jordan, his 7 year old brother Cameron Spencer, and their mother Alysia Robinson, came up with the idea to honor the 26 angels that were lost on that day. It started off as a smaller event, but has grown tremendously as people from all over heard and wanted to donate their services and time to this event. We are having a full carnival at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds in Portland on September 21st from 12pm - 9:30pm. The carnival will include rides, arcade games, children's activities, several food vendors and jewelery vendors, etc. There will also be entertainment including musical talents as well as magician performances. At the end of the evening, a laser light show listing the names of each victim and a firework display will take place to truly honor and remember the 26 angels of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Our event was supposed to have taken place on June 9, 2013, however due to inclement weather and heavy rains flooding the fairgrounds, we have had to postpone our event twice now. We are looking to get people excited for our event again. People from all over the country were planning to come out in June, but now we need to spread the word and get people excited again for this beautiful and memorable day.
All of the proceeds will be distributed evenly to five different organizations that were chosen by 10 year old, Jordan Spencer. These organizations include The My Sandy Hook Family Fund/Sandy Hook Family Healing Fund, The Lions Club of Newtown/First Responders Fund, The Victoria Soto Scholarship Fund, The Catherine Hubbard Animal Sanctuary and The Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation.
We are hoping to get a large turnout for this event as many people have donated their time and services to help make such a memorable day come to life. Please come and help us by joining us at the event to continue to help the families and friends of this community heal by spreading Light and Love in honor of their loved ones.
