East Hampton Loses in Lopsided Contest

East Hampton Boy's Soccer

The East Hampton High School boys soccer team once again proved that a match is more than foot skills. Old Lyme came to town on Monday and pushed the East Hampton side all over the field. Never realing mounting much of an attack they were on their heels for the majority of the contest. At the 20 minute mark Old Lyme tallied on a break away from the right side. Two more scores including a PK on a hand ball in the goal box would seal the Bellringers fate. Old Lyme 3-0.

Tournament time is right around the corner and the "Ringer 11" has yet to find itself. They are talented and young relying on strong defense and a struggling offense. "We need to show that we have heart and we are not intimidated by anyone" said Senior Co-captain Nathaniel Heroux. They will face a strong Hale-Ray team in the Shoreline semi-finals next Wed. 10/31 at Hale-Ray. Halloween will be no time for make believe they need to show up for real. First they will face Westbrook on Senior Night on 10/24 at 5:30PM at EHHS.

The Bellringers are a respectable 8-4-1 and should improve. If East Hampton is to make some noise in the post season the must first find their voice.
