August Fun at Oddfellows Playhouse!

As the last long month of summer approaches, Oddfellows is looking forward to several events and performances coming up in August. We have our annual children's circus performance, a cross country race, and a couple of great fundraising events perfect for the whole family!

Come out to watch the Children's Circus of Middletown as they perform and explore the wild world of Science! This exciting evening boosts tons of laughs, gasps, and wild-and-crazy moves! Clowning! Juggling! Maybe even jumping through fire? You'll have to come and see! Perfomance will begin at 5:00 pm. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for student/senior. Rain Date is August 4, same time, same price.

Oddfellows is pleased to present Casey Carle's Bubblemania at the Playhouse on Saturday August 4th! An extremely unique program combining high energy entertainment with artistic achievement, BubbleMania! is loaded with visual comedy, quick wit, big band swing music and the untamed, often unbelievable qualities and beauty of spherical liquids. Casey's creations grow from intricate and imaginative bubble artforms to "trapping" people inside bubbles! Part of the proceeds for the performance will go towards funding for Oddfellows programming. There will be two performances on August 4th, one at 11am and one at 2pm.

On Saturday, August 11, Oddfellows will be teaming up with the New Britain Rock Cats at the Rock Cat Stadium to support Oddfellows with a night of baseball, fun, and fundraising! Watch as the Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) take on the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies). Tickets for the game are only $6! The gates will open at 5:35pm for a kids pre-game block party at the stadium. The game will start at 7:05pm.
Half the proceeds from all ticket sales and all the proceeds for concessions will go directly to the theater. This is a great event for the whole family (and friends too!) to come out. And last but not least is our Second Annual Rubber Chicken Run! This 5k Cross Country Road Race will take place on August 16th at Mercy High School. At 6:00pm we will have a half-mile children's fun run (ages 13 and under), and the 5k will begin at 6:30pm. The cost is $20 per runner ($25 the day of the race) and $75 per team.
