East Hampton Accident Takes Out Telephone Pole
Loud bang heard throughout neighborhood.
A one-car accident took out a stop sign and telephone pole at the corner of North Maple Street and Hills Avenue in East Hampton Saturday night.
At about 10:30 p.m. a loud bang was heard and flash of light seen throughout the neighborhood.
Police responded immediately to find the remains of a telephone poll and stop sign in the road and a car that had veered off into the woods next to the high school.

Early reports are that the driver sustained minor injuries. There were no passengers.
Though there was no immediate power outage, residents in the neighborhood are advised that power will probably be shut down once Connecticut Light and Power arrives on the scene.
