Updated: East Hampton Council Members Face Fines in Connection with Police Chief's Firing

A state official is recommending the fines after concluding the five violated state right-to-know laws.

Five East Hampton Town Council members are facing state fines in connection with the council’s ouster of Police Chief Matthew Reimondo last year, The Hartford Courant is reporting. A preliminary ruling by a hearing officer for the state’s Freedom of Information Commission has concluded that the five members, Melissa Engle, John Tuttle, Thomas Cordeiro, Barbara Moore and Christopher Goff, violated FOI laws when they ousted Reimondo last June.
