East Hampton Police Blotter: Aug. 31 to Sept. 13

The following arrest information was supplied by local police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 31

Neiko Magri, 19, of 12 Stagecoach Run, East Hampton was involved in a car vs. lamp post motor vehicle accident at the Stop & Shop parking lot on Aug. 31. Magri was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility and possession of alcohol by minor.

Sept. 6

Lise McCarthy-Bearwald, 61, of 20 Knowles Road, Middle Haddam, was issued a written warning for having a loud exhaust on Sept. 6.

Sept. 7

Alex Dylan Banning, 19, of 4 Smith St., East Hampton, and Nicholas Joseph Hall, 19, of 22 North Main St., East Hampton, were both arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.

Sept. 8

Christopher K. Cherry, 25, of 159 Main St., Apt. 2, East Hampton, was issued a ticket for creating a public disturbance on Sept. 8

Melanie Stachowitz, 33, of 3a Starr Place, East Hampton, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive right on Sept. 8.

Michele Downing, 27, of 57 Spice Hill Drive, East Hampton, was issued a written warning for texting while operating a motor vehicle on Sept. 8.

Sept. 9

Melissa Rowe, 26, of 14 Barbara Ave., East Hampton, and Michael Flanagan, 35, of 15 Spice Hill Dr., East Hampton, were involved in a two-car motor vehicle accident at the Route 66 a the North Main Street intersection on Sept. 9. Rowe was issued a written warning for a failure to grant right of way.

Sept. 10

Andrea Bogue, 39, of 37 Bashan Road, East Haddam, was issued a written warning for not having tail lamps illuminated on Sept. 10.

Sept. 11

Adam Salowitz, 31, 125 Tartia Road, East Hampton was issued a written warning for traveling unreasonably fast on Sept. 11.

Carol L. Hayes, 72, of 62 Colchester Ave., East Hampton, and Ernest Frimpong, 50, of 18 Leichtner Dr., East Hartford, were involved in a two car motor vehicle accident in the area of 62 Colchester Ave. on Sept. 11. Haynes was issued a verbal warning for making an improper left turn and a ticket for having an unregistered motor vehicle.

Sept. 13

Alfred Souza, 38, of 3 Seven Hills Crossing, East Hampton, was issued a written warning for making an illegal lane change on Sept. 13.

I'm not real sure what the take away is. It may be me, but I haven't seen a lot of in-depthRead More reporting on either side of the issue. It appears that we will vote and the result will determine what our future holds. I am willing to read whatever is available to become an informed voter. Please advise where the truth in reporting is and where the public information can be accessed.
