East Hampton Police Blotter: Oct. 7 - 14

Oct. 7 

Officer Wilson initiated a motor vehicle stop after witnessing a vehicle cross over the yellow line into the oncoming lane and back on Route 196.  While speaking with the operator of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia was observed by the officer on the floor of the Vehicle.  

Officer Hanlon arrived to assist with a motor vehicle search.  During their search the officers discovered numerous items of contraband.  As a result the driver, Chelsea Klein, 22, of 1165 Saybrook Rd., Haddam was arrested and charged with Possession of Narcotics with intent to sell, Possession of Controlled Substances with intent to sell, Possession of Marijuana < ½ ounce and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Klein was scheduled to appear before the Middletown Superior Court on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at 9 a.m. to answer to the aforementioned charges.

Officers Wishart and Pekar came across a vehicle parked along the roadway of Summit Street at its intersection with Flanders Road.  The operator was asleep in the vehicle and the vehicle was still running.  

Officers awakened the driver and had him perform standard field sobriety tests which he ultimately failed.  Sean Anderson, 23, of 17 Colchester Ave., East Hampton was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and is scheduled to appear before the Middletown Superior Court on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at 9 a.m.

Oct. 12  

Ronald A. Way, 45, of 100 Young St., East Hampton was pulled over by Officer Hanlon for driving erratically.  Way was then asked to perform standard field sobriety tests and failed.  Way was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Drive Right and is scheduled to appear before the Middletown Superior Court on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at 9 a.m. 

Luis Diaz, 31, of 28 Grafton St., Hartford was issued a ticket for Failure to Obey a Traffic Signal. 

Oct. 14 

Melissa Toce, 34, of 4 Long Crossing Rd., East Hampton was issued a ticket for Failure to Drive Right.
