East Hampton Police Blotter: Sept. 15 - Sept. 21

The following information provided by the East Hampton Police Department. An arrest or infraction does not indicate a conviction. All individuals listed in our reports are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sept. 14

David Thomas Bane III, 23, of 12 Hayes St., New Britain, was issued a ticket for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to carry a license.

Officer Salafia and Sergeant Michael Green responded to a scrap metal theft in progress at 11 Skinner Street. Upon arrival officers found Barbara Abbott, 43, actively removing metal from the industrial scrap dumpster.  Officers also located and identified the driver of the vehicle the scrap metal was being placed into as Shirley Benjamin, 76, of 19 Main St., East Hampton. Both were arrested and charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree.

Sept. 13

Lisa L. Kowalsky, 44, of 249 West High St., East Hampton, was issued a summons for operating while under suspension.

Sept. 12

Chapin M. Stickler, 31, of 15 Dziok Drive, East Hampton, was issued a summons for operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

Timothy Cavanaugh, 53, of 202 Hog Hill Road, East Hampton, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant for second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.
