East Hampton Police Chief Search Down to Two Candidates

The town's search for a replacement for Interim Chief Matthew Reimondo should come to an end soon. The town has narrowed the search to two candidates, the Hartford Courant reported this week.

The search started with a field of 52 candidates and has included interviews with a special committee made up of former police chiefs. The town hopes to have a new chief on staff by the end of next month.

Reimondo, who has worked for the town for about 20 years, the last 10 or so as its chief, left his job in January under an early retirement offer. He was rehired as the town's interim chief while officials sought his replacement.
