East Hampton Woman Killed Crossing Route 66
Fatal injuries suffered after being struck by pickup.
East Hampton Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred at about 7:29 p.m. on Saturday. The accident happened on Route 66 in the area of Stop & Shop.
A 58-year-old local woman was struck by a pickup truck as she was walking across Route 66. The woman sustained fatal injuries and passed away after treatment at Middlesex Hospital Emergency Clinic in Marlborough, according to Sgt. Garritt Kelly.
The accident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed. The identification of parties involved will be released after family notifications have been made.
