It has now been a week since Jini Barnum was last seen.
The East Hampton resident left her home around 11 p.m. on July 28 after having a disagreement with her boyfriend, leaving behind a six-week-old child.
"That's one of the things that really makes it not make sense," Ann King said, "that she was very doting and would leave for more than a few hours without any contact."
King is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 681 in Middletown. Barnum is a member and the group has been very involved in trying to help find her.
Among their efforts, putting up flyers with Barnum's photo and arranging search parties.
"We've gone the last two days, we're going again [Friday]," King said. "We have people searching in Middletown, too."
Friday the Salmon River area was searched and other parts of town, including Skinner and Young streets. More searches are being planned for the weekend.
"We have a map that we're keeping up-to-date," King said. "We're trying to keep track of where people have been searching. Most of our searching has been in East Hampton and the Haddam Neck area."
The lack of leads has been frustrating.
"We're starting to run out of places to go," King said. "She's still missing and no one's heard from her. We had one lead that turned out to be nothing."
Barnum, 30, is 5 feet 2, 140 pounds, red/blonde hair, numerous tatoos and piercing. She was last seen wearing jeans and a T-shirt. It was her boyfriend that reported her missing.
