Police: East Hampton Mom Plied 14-Year-Old With Margaritas at Restaurant

A 51-year-old mother is charged with allowing her teen daughter to drink cocktails with their Mexican meal at a restaurant in Middletown's Metro Square.

 

Police arrested an East Hampton mother on charges she gave her 14-year-old daughter margaritas with dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.

Joanne G. LePage, 51, of Barrie Road, East Hampton, was charged with risk of injury to a minor following the incident.

On Feb. 27 at 7:21 p.m., police were called to Puerto Vallarta, at 200 Main St., (Metro Square Plaza) for a report of an intoxicated 14-year-old girl, who was with her mother, police said. 

The victim, police said, indicated her mother had been serving her margaritas with their meals, and a witness who saw the teen confirmed the account.

Police sent the girl to Middlesex Hospital for detoxification treatment, the report says.
