Sentencing Delayed in Hendricks Case

East Hampton Middle School teacher to be sentenced on July 31.

 

The sentencing of Richard D. Hendricks, formerly employed as a computer teacher at East Hampton Middle School, has been rescheduled for July 31 at 9 a.m. at the United States Court House, 141 Church St., in New Haven.

Sentencing had originally been scheduled for Tuesday.

Hendricks, who also was the Yearbook Advisor at the school, on Jan. 19 before Senior United States District Judge Ellen Breen Burns in New Haven to one count of receipt of child pornography stemming from his arrest on June 8, 2011.

Hendricks, 31, faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years, a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of up to $250,000. He has been detained since his arrest on June 9, 2011.
