Carpino Throws The First Pitch at Rock Cats Game

Portland's state representative one of a few local dignitaries to join in on celebrating Cromwell Night in New Britain.

NEW BRITAIN - State Rep. Christie Carpino (Cromwell, Middletown and Portland) along with a large contingent of Cromwell residents celebrated Cromwell Night at the New Britain Rock Cats ballpark on Aug. 21.

Carpino was one of a few dignitaries to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. The town of Cromwell was one of five municipalities chosen by the Rock Cats, a Double-A Eastern League Team, to have their own evening at the ballpark during the season.

According to the Rock Cats the idea behind the night was to promote Cromwell businesses and the community.
