Carpino to Participate in Great Park Pursuit

Sprint will begin on April 28.

Beginning April 28, State Rep. Christie Carpino will be kicking off and participating in the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's (DEEP) Great Park Pursuit Spring Sprint.

Each year hundreds of Connecticut families sign up for the challenge to visit different state parks and forests over a four-week period as part of the Great Park Pursuit Spring Sprint. The families compete against other families statewide, by decoding clues that lead them to some of Connecticut's most beautiful state parks and forests - all for a chance to win great prizes including a 2012 State Park and Forest Season Pass.

The Sprint kicks off on April 28 at Goodwin State Forest in Hampton from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Teams can arrive at any point within this timeframe to enjoy the variety of activities planned for the day. Teams will receive a No Child Left Inside bracelet, which must be worn to each Great Park Pursuit event to ensure free admission to the venue.

“This is a great way to spend quality time with your family and to discover the many exciting opportunities available at Connecticut’s State Parks and Forests,” Carpino (R-Cromwell) said in a press release.
