DEEP Offers Lifetime State Park Passes To Disabled Vets
Connecticut veterans with a service-related disability can obtain free lifetime state park passes through The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP)
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has announced that they will now be offering free lifetime state park passes to veterans with a service-related disability.
According to the DEEP website, veterans must be Connecticut residents to be eligible for the pass.

“These free, lifetime passes are an excellent way for us to show our appreciation to Connecticut’s residents and their families who have served our country,” DEEP Deputy Commissioner Susan Frechette said in the article.
“Connecticut’s state parks and forests offer excellent recreation opportunities for the whole family and we are pleased to be able to provide free access to our disabled Veterans so that they and their families can enjoy them fully.”

Passes are available through DEEP's Hartford headquarters and at other state DEEP offices.
Here's what the DEEP website says veterans should bring when applying for the pass: a photocopy of their current Connecticut drivers license or other legal proof of residency, and a copy of their Veterans Administration (VA) Card or VA benefits, which should identify the service-related disability.
