East Hampton to Thank Town Volunteers

Event will be part of Senior Center Open House.

The East Hampton Senior Center will host an Open House on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. to celebrate town volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week, and the recently completed Senior Center renovations.

East Hampton has more than 250 elected and appointed board, commission, committee and emergency members who generously volunteer their time, energy and resources to make our community a better place to live, work and play. In addition to thanking these individuals, advocates for our seniors and veterans, as well as several students, Eagle Scouts and Girl Scouts who have made special contributions to this community, will be invited.

This Tribute and Open House is being co-sponsored by the East Hampton Town Council and the Senior Center. This will be a celebration and social event – no speeches! There will be live music, refreshments and a tour of the Senior Center. The East Hampton Public Library will offer Sunday hours from 1 to 5 p.m. in support of this Senior Center and Volunteer Celebration.

This event will also help kick-off and provide registration information for East Hampton Alerts Town-wide Notification System, Yellow Dot and File of Life programs. These programs are designed to help save lives and provide emergency medical, contact and general information to first responders and community members.
