East Hampton's Chatham Party to Hold Caucus on Aug. 17

Will endorse candidates for November election.

The Chatham Town Committee will hold a caucus on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. at the East Hampton Library Community Room to endorse candidates for election to municipal office this November.

The Chatham Party established a Candidate Selection Committee to interview potential candidates for Town Council, Board of Finance, Board of Education and Zoning Board of Appeals. The criteria used by the Committee in selecting candidates included diversity of backgrounds, experience and skills as well as personal qualities of integrity, thoughtfulness, the ability to listen and hear, the ability to communicate effectively and, above all, the commitment to serve the community first. The Committee will present its proposed slate for consideration and endorsement by members.

The Chatham Party is an independent political party. Its mission is to demand and support honesty, openness, integrity and efficiency among elected and appointed officials and managers in our local government. Unlike the major political parties that require affiliation, membership is open to all registered voters regardless of party affiliation.
