Mary Ann Dostaler for Board of Finance

Stands for honest accounting, transparent budgets and better communication.

What I Stand For

I am proud to be a candidate for the Board of Finance with the Chatham Party. My goal is to contribute my skills as a successful business woman and communications professional to improve the budget process, stop wasteful spending and deliver greater value for taxpayers.

Since moving to EH in 1998 with my husband, I have been actively involved in our community. I was a member and past President of the EH Junior Women’s Club. After being trained by the Study Circles, I served as a facilitator with the Chatham Roundtables. I have volunteered to work at the polls for budget referenda and elections. I also was a member and past Chairwoman of the Economic Development Commission, and currently serve as a member of the Brownfield Redevelopment Agency. These experiences have given me a first-hand opportunity to meet many wonderful people, to be involved in supporting our businesses, and to see the tremendous potential of what our town could be. All that is needed is vision and leadership.

Winston Churchill famously said, “You’ve got enemies? Good. That means you have stood up for something in your life.” I am proud to have stood up with the Chatham Party since 2005, and more recently with the many people of all political stripes who came together to Take Back Our Town.

As a member of the BOF, I will stand for honest accounting, transparent budgets and better communication. I will support inter-board cooperation and collaboration to align goals and develop long-term plans. I will provide proactive leadership and facilitate decisions that put community first.
