Rep. Carpino Leads Session on Cyber-Bullying

Discusses proposed bill with students

State Rep. Christie Carpino on March 9 led a session focused on cyber-bullying, talking to students from throughout the state who traveled to the Capitol to learn a little more about the legislative process.

The Connecticut Association of Boards of Education organized the event, and Carpino, a member of the Education and Judiciary committees, took time to describe a proposed bill that seeks to stamp out cyber-bullying.

Carpino, R-Cromwell, who represents Cromwell, Middletown and Portland, fielded questions from the students, many of whom talked about anti-bullying programs at their schools. Carpino listened to their suggestions on how to improve the proposed bill, and she encouraged each student to stay in contact with either her or their own state representatives and state senators as the legislative session moves forward.
