The Top Homes For Sale in East Hampton

These six properties are among the most expensive on the local real estate market right now.

  It's springtime, when a homeowner's fancy turn to thoughts of a new home. Okay, so maybe not everyone will act on that impulse and run out and buy a new house as the lilacs bloom, but it's always okay to look isn't it? With that in mind, we thought it might be fun to take another peak at some of the top homes on the market right now in East Hampton. Some of these we've featured on East Hampton-Portland Patch. Others we haven't gotten to yet. Either way, you can click on the links below and take a gander at some of these properties, each of which is selling for between $600,000 to more than $1 million. The Properties:

  1. For $1.25 million you could call this property on Lake Pocotopaug home. It eatures 90 feet of waterfront a quarter-acre lot. The 5-bedroom contemporary was built in 2000 and includes 4 bathrooms, 3,116 square feet of living space, a finished walkout basement and a large deck overlooking the lake
  2. This Craftsman's style home sits directly on Lake Pocotopaug on a wooded, dead-end street and was originally listed at $1.2 million. The price was just dropped to It features two fireplaces, custom cherry wood floors, 50-feet of waterfront. The listing calls it "simply gorgeous" and "architectural digest worthy."
  3. The historic Bevin House on Barton Hill Road recently came on the market for $925,000. Once home to the owners of the local Bevin Bell manufacturing company, the three-story, 8-bedroom home was built in 1872 in the French Empire style. It has been remodeled and features a new kitchen, a heated pool, a patio and a 5,000-square-foot barn.
  4. This single-family home has direct waterfront on Lake Pocotopaug in an area of large, upscale homes on Meek’s Point, a dead-end road on the lake’s eastern shore. Built in 1947 but updated extensively in recent years, the home sits on about a third of an acre and has 100 feet of Connecticut’s largest natural lake. It's listed for $775,000.
  5. Built in 1760 barn and relocated from Avon, this barn was totally reconstructed as a "stunning residence by renowned builders in 2004," the listing states. It features an open floor plan, a two-bay heated garage, along with a 3.5 bay barn/garage and a two-stall stable. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home has 2,623 square feet. It's listing price is $649,000 and the home sits on 16 acres.
  6. This home on Bay Road has 80 feet of waterfront on Lake Pocotopaug, is located on a dead-end road and is across the street from a large land trust wooded area with walking trails. The custom built ranch has four bedrooms in 2,250 square feet and an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings. It's on the market for $614,900.
