East Hampton Girls Soccer Wins Home Opener in Dramatic Fashion

Team beats North Branford following last-minute score.

The following information was provided by Soccer Coach Glenn Gustine.

After a long scoreless battle with North Branford over 88 minutes the Bellringers had their lightening strike in the 88th minute on Sept. 13.

With a great build up from Ali Bristol to Sarah Dickerman, who played a great thru ball to Natalie Dash, and then she gets fouled in the box, Natalie stepped up and hit the penalty kick winner without hesitation.

East Hampton closed out the game with solid defense as North Branford surged forward to try and equalize. Keeper Alison Bristol had five saves and the shutout for the Bellringers and the entire defense played a solid game with leadership from Madison Reinhard, Leah Coughlin, Morgan Slossberg and Mckenzie Germain.

North Branford's number 24, Emmy Dulak was a real threat but she was held in check by a superb effort from East Hampton's Kiara Hanlon who battled her all day up and down the pitch. East Hampton's offense was firing away early and often, outshooting North Branford 11-to-6 but could not find the back of the net until the late game winner.
