East Hampton High School Students Recognized

East Hampton High School recognized scores of students Friday morning in the school’s annual Honors Breakfast program. The event is held each year to recognize students who have excelled academically throughout the year.

As she did last year, School Superintendent Judith Golden urged the students to continue to strive for excellence by constantly asking themselves if their performance in all they do is above average.

“Is it your best, or is it just good enough?” Golden said. “I hope you ask yourself that question again and again.”

Linda C. Berry, the high school principal, said she will miss the annual event. Berry, who has served as principal in East Hampton for 11 years, is leaving at the end of this school year.

“I’ve loved my time here. It’s gone by fast and I will miss it every day.”

After the students were each called up and given a pen inscribed with the school’s name, they and their parents filed into the gymnasium where the breakfast buffet was served and then on to the cafeteria to eat.

The annual honors breakfast awards program is for students who achieve honors or high honors for each of the first three quarters of the school year.
