School officials have said taking no action on the association's recommendations to improve certain educational areas in the high school could jeopardize its accreditation with the organization. Most public high schools in the state are accredited by NEASC.

The building committee is hoping to hold a town-wide referendum on the building proposal by the end of April.

The finance board at its meeting Monday also will review the proposed $39.8 million townwide budget for 2013-2014.

The budget includes a $28 million Board of Education budget and a $9.7 million general government (town operations) budget. The spending plan also calls for $1.1 million for debt service. The increase for the entire budget for next year is $1,447,660, or 3.78 percent.
