Portland High School Class of 2013 Graduates!
The 83 members of the Portland High School Class of 2013 received their diplomas Tuesday night.
Portland High School Principal Andrea M. Lavery joked during Tuesday night's graduation ceremony that some feared the Class of 2013 might be unlucky: unlucky 13.
And some parents and friends might have seen the soaking rain that forced the ceremony indoors to be unlucky. But eager attendants packed the school's auditorium, with overflow watching live video in the nearby cafeteria.
And with some of the highest overall achievements in the school's history, record-breaking bake sales and special lectures from Congressmen, the Class of 2013 was anything but.
"It is my wish that good luck and good fortune follow them wherever they go," Lavery said.
The class president, salutatorian and valedictorian all spoke fondly of the small size of their class, and the close-knit bonds it had created.
