School Board Seeks Input in Superintendent Search

First focus group scheduled for Aug. 23.

The East Hampton Board of Education has embarked on it's search for a new Superintendent.

Dr. Judith Golden has officially retired as of June 30, but will remain on as the interim superintendent until the end of the year. Golden, who has worked for 42 years in the field of education, has been at East Hampton the past five years.

Future Management Systems, an executive search firm was hired by the board to assist with the search. The board has met a couple of times with William Garr, the search consultant, to plan out the details of the search process. However, the board feels strongly about having input from parents, employees of the district and community members in order to create a comprehensive leadership profile of the next superintendent.

Therefore, focus groups and an online survey are being developed. The first focus group will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23, at 7:15 p.m. at the East Hampton Middle School Library/Media Center for Memorial and Center School parents to meet with the consultant firm.
